iPhone and iPad

Zomello on iPhone and iPad works like the Android app, with a few things done the Apple way. It's coming to the App Store soon.

The basics

  • The menu calls the device This iPad (or This phone on an iPhone), with a heading for each other place: your computer and any Zomello Servers.
  • Press and hold anything for its menu; press, hold and drag to move cards, buckets and boards. Swipe sideways between buckets.
  • On an iPad, the menu stays open beside the board, like on a computer.
  • Each iPhone and iPad keeps its own look and accessibility settings.

Permissions Zomello asks for

PermissionWhenWhy
Local NetworkThe first time you connect to your computer or look for serversTo reach the Zomello app on your computer, or a Zomello Server, on your Wi‑Fi
CameraThe first time you tap Scan the QR code on your computerOnly to read the pairing code; nothing is saved
NotificationsWhen you turn on remindersTo show the reminders you set

Changed your mind? iPhone Settings > Zomello (Camera, Local Network, Notifications), or Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network.

Connecting to your computer

The same as on Android (Your computer's boards on your phone). Installing the computer's certificate on an iPhone or iPad takes two extra taps:

  1. Open the certificate link from the computer's Put it on a device QR code in Safari and allow the download.
  2. Settings > General > VPN & Device Management: tap the downloaded profile, then Install.
  3. Settings > General > About > Certificate Trust Settings: turn on full trust for the Zomello certificate.

The setup page on the computer shows these same steps.

Board files

Save as board file… opens the share sheet: Save to Files keeps it on the device or in iCloud Drive, or send it by AirDrop, Mail or Messages. To open one, Settings > Data > Import a board and pick it from Files.

Without the app

On your computer's boards in Safari, Share > Add to Home Screen puts Zomello on the home screen like an app. See Using a browser instead of the app.
