The desktop app (Windows and Linux)
Extra things the computer version of Zomello can do.
Several windows
- Right-click a board > Open in new window (or middle-click it in the menu) to give it its own window. Handy for keeping one board on a second screen.
- Windows stay in sync: a change in one shows in the others right away.
- Zomello Servers you've added open in their own window too, and so do a connected phone's boards.
Keep it running
- Settings > Desktop app > Keep running in the tray when I close the window. Closing the window then leaves Zomello in the system tray (near the clock): reminders keep coming and your phones stay connected. Open or quit it from the tray icon.
- Start Zomello when I log in starts it quietly in the tray.
- Only one copy runs at a time: opening Zomello again brings the existing window forward.
Files
- Drag files from your file manager onto an open card to attach them. They're copied into Zomello's own storage.
- Drag a board file (
.zomello) onto the window to add it. Trello and Planner exports can be dropped into Settings > Data > Import a board. - Double-click a
.zomellofile to open it in Zomello. - Save as board file… saves to your Downloads folder; click Show to see it.
Zoom and text
- Ctrl +, Ctrl − and Ctrl 0, or hold Ctrl and scroll, anywhere in the app.
- Spell check underlines mistakes in every text field (right-click for suggestions). On Linux, install a dictionary such as
hunspell-en_usif it isn't there.
Notifications
Reminders and the daily summary appear as your system's notifications. If none show, check Settings > Reminders, use Send a test notification, and make sure your system allows notifications from Zomello.
Phones and tablets
The desktop app can share its boards with your phones and tablets on the same Wi‑Fi, and show their boards in its sidebar. See Your computer's boards on your phone.
Where things are stored
%APPDATA%\com.zombeatz.zomello on Windows, ~/.local/share/com.zombeatz.zomello on Linux. See Data and backups.
